Bay Sunday with Gameheads

"Being on Bay Sunday was an extremely cool experience. It was our first time ever getting so widely noticed and it opened our eyes to how important our game was. As a young group of teens we’re constantly getting told what we do is important, but this really opened our eyes to just how important it really was. However, it was more than just us. This opportunity made everyone at Gameheads work harder in our games than we had beforehand. There’s a really big difference between being told eyes are on your game, and then being part of the broadcast for those eyes to see it. The impact this had on each and every member here at Gameheads, especially the ones on Team Halls High, can’t be explained by words alone. It was a magnitude that really woke us up to the job we had been doing and what was expected of us. We were forced to step up our own game and in turn that made our game better than what it was before.

Gameheads as a program got much better at what it does because everyone truly acknowledged the pressure that was on their shoulders and the importance of what we were doing. That type of pressure was something that we needed. Our teammate, Brandon Charles, was the teen in this interview and one of our mentors, Damon Packwood, was the adult; the amount of seriousness they spoke with when on air really demonstrated to us the seriousness of what we were doing. All-in-all the experience was really good and we’re grateful to have had it."
