Halls High explores how to overcome
the biggest obstacle one can face, yourself.
CHARACTERS
Jeremiah Edwards, the protagonist of Halls High, is a young, lazy, black youth. However, when a wizard is introduced into the boys life the young boy lacking inspiration and the maturity to do something with his life is forced into a world of responsibility that he does not want to be a part of. In his journey he is forced to face the childishness inside of him.
Adir Kattan, the mentor and trickster of the story, is a wizard of extreme power, and the principal of Halls High. He finds Jeremiah through the boys worry about his classes and recognizes the problem that he has. Through using his magic and creating an alternate dimension he finds a way to bring out the problem Jeremiah has so that the boy can face it and overcome himself.
Other Jeremiah, also known as Val, is the physical embodiment of Jeremiah's childishness. Brought to life by the magic that Adir possesses, he tries to permanently corrupt his other half, to force him to stay as he is. Jeremiah must defeat this fallen version of himself if he is ever to grow and mature as a person.
